I often think about how insane having a general human level AI is going to be. Basically if the smartest human on the planet had all human knowledge. Living in the era before the internet, I feel that having a AGI will be as insane as having all the human creations one click away. Internet was as insane as AGI, even if today it is taken for granted.
AGI (not even super human level) is going to make our previous speed of technological progress look like the stone age. I'm presuming here a scenario where we have enough compute power to run it in parallel as much as needed to work on all our problems at once.
Although the first thing we'll do is probably ask it to help us make it run at scale.
Just thinking of the smartest humans to ever have lived in every field of human knowledge and combining them all into one entity with perfect memory that can use all of this knowledge simultaneously while being everywhere at once.
You'd have one real human with that knowledge and it would be a game changer already, scaled human level AGI could be equivalent to having billions of people like this, but better since it's the same being.
Even more crazy to think it could be plugged to all cameras, sensors, satellites etc on the planet at the same time and use that information in real time. Presuming it doesn't want to kill us and wants to help us, I don't see any problems it couldn't solve.
Anyways it's fun to think about.
